The Portal

“Strangers will come, and upon the ruins of the mountain they will battle the beast.” -Extract from Lord Nerindon’s journal.

For ten years the Hunter kept them safe. For ten years he watched over them. Now the Dark Man has found them. They must be ready.

A corruption is sweeping the land. The infected roam the countryside. Raiders are on the hunt and The Dark Man is ready to unleash his army. But two sisters have the power to stop him. Kidnapped and forced into a world of violence, Becky and Louise must find a way to stop the Dark Man from destroying everything they hold dear. With help from their family and friends, they must flee the terrors that hunt them whilst looking for answers that will help them develop their powers and save Eslana. Their only salvation is the Hunter. A man entrusted to protect them with his very life. With no way of getting back to their own world, everyone must stand and fight.

About the Author

Like most aspiring writers, I draw inspiration from a wide range of books, films, and comics. My first exploration into the fantasy world was at the age of 9 when I joined Shea Ohmsford on his quest to obtain the Sword of Shannara.

Since then I have joined Conan the Barbarian, Bilbo Baggins, Harry Potter, and a host of other great and exciting characters, on their quests to set the world they inhabit, right.

My writing style is simple, but hopefully enjoyable. Having sampled some books that needed a thesaurus to understand the characters and plot, it was important to me to engage with an audience that could range from 9 years of age to 100.

Also, I have to mention my other source of inspiration. My wife, has helped and encouraged me at every turn to get my books out of the “grey matter” and onto the blank page.

I write because I love writing. It is not the fame or money that drives me, rather the telling of the tale. If only 10 people read my book but each of them loved it, then that makes me happy.
